Welcome Julia!
May 2024
Julia Arnold was born to Swiss parents in New York City and grew up near Boston, USA with her two younger sisters. She is currently in her second year at Cornell University and is working towards her B.Sc. degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Julia has always been passionate about bioengineering, having previously conducted a literature review on leadless pacemakers and developed a process to efficiently synthesize mRNA vaccines. Most recently, she joined Prof. Christopher Alabi's lab in the CBE department at Cornell, where she has been working on a project to improve the stability, targeting, and cytosolic transport of proteins using ionizable lipid nanoparticles. She will be spending this summer with the Ambizione project under Dr. Ana I. Benítez-Mateos as an undergraduate researcher, assisting in the synthesis of extremozymes for more efficient and effective biocatalysis.
